s0wingseas0n: This is my close friend Jered Dowden. For as long as I’ve known him, he always puts forth 200% effort in everything he does. He graduated in the top ten of his high school class and will be attending the University of Central Florida (UCF) in the spring, has been given just about every award a student can receive, been an active member of BPA (Business Professionals of America) and National Honors Society (NHS), and has even built his very own record label from the ground up. He’s done so much and he’s only 18 years old! Jered has always been there for me, friends and family, and even complete strangers. He has got to be the most generous and caring person I’ve ever met. On July 27th, 2012, Jered Dowden and our friend Alex Johnson were in a terrible car accident while coming home from Warped Tour. Alex walked away with scratches and bruises and was released from the hospital that night. Jered, however, was not as lucky. During the crash, the car’s engine shifted and that caused the car’s console to crush Jered. Jered was rushed to the hospital only to find out that he had, in his right leg, a broken femur, tibia, fibula, toes and foot; in his left leg he broke is tibia, fibula, and a broken ankle. He also has a broken left hand. Many of his bones were shattered and were replaced with metal rods. Jered’s insurance will not be able to cover the full 6 months of physical therapy he will need in order to walk again, the hospital bed he would need in his home, or the many other expenses to aid him in recovery.  Any help will be appreciated, even if it is just reblogging this and passing this on.
